What’s Next After #BBNaija?

Oh what an amazing night it was on Twitter when the #BBNaija final eviction show was transmitted.
Over 25 million Nigerians tuned in to watch or be a part of the show in one way or the other and this is where the participants should focus their goals whether win or lose. According to a diligent Twitter user, (@zebbook) who collated data reflecting the reach in numbers of millions of individuals from every continent in the world, predominantly Africa, North America and Europe, this is seriously unprecedented. Despite this level of exposure and potentially significant opportunity, many of the housemates will lose their chances or worse, end up forgotten. To avoid this pitfall, we have identified at least five ways the former housemates can manage their newly found stardom:

  1. Speak As Little As Possible About Your Time In The Big Brother House:

Listen to this very carefully, after spending about 78  days on TV screens all over the world, we have a pretty good idea of who you are. The last thing you want to do after coming out is to continuously speak about your time in the Big Brother House. It’s worse if you were pretty controversial in the house. We know all that you did, do not spend time explaining a particular situation. It is too late, you are out whether win or lose.

  1. Now Is The Time To Show Your Talent, Skill and Whatnot:

Big Brother House has given you the platform to be famous, you will be getting interviewed left and right. As we discussed above, speak little about the house and start pushing your agenda. Be it a skill, talent or business, go ahead and talk about it. This is your opportunity for endless press access, work it!

  1. Acknowledge Your Voters:

Even if you were among the first to be evicted, people voted for you. Make sure you create a press release specifically for the purpose of appreciating your voters. Do not be confused though, they are not your fans yet. You can make them your fans by giving them a reason. Nigerians are conservative at heart, appeal to their thinking whether for or against. Have giveaways, throw meet and greets, etc.

  1. Get A Good Manager….Preferably Not Family:

Please do not be foolish, get yourself a good manager. Not someone who is interested in just being associated with you or being seen with you. Get someone who will understand your agenda and make you a priority.
Side note: Stay away from siblings, cousins, blah blah blah!

  1. So What You didn’t Win:

Take a cue from Ebuka Obi-Uchendu; he didn’t win the first season of #BBNaija, in fact he finished in the eighth place but went on to become one of the most successful participants of the competition. As if that wasn’t enough, he came back to host same competition he got evicted from.  The competition churns out winners if only you are smart enough to recognize that. So, get up, get good and get going!

Congratulations to all the #BBNaija participants, we hope the above suggestions are useful and if you are in need of good managers, we are just a click away!
